SYNOPSIS
Vienna, early 20th century. Egon Schiele is the most provocative young artist of his time – celebrated by Gustav Klimt and a few bold collectors, despised by a bourgeois society that sees only scandal in his work. Two women shape his life and his art: his sister Gerti, his first model, and seventeen-year-old Wally Neuzil, the great love he immortalised in "Death and the Maiden". As war breaks out and an era comes to an end, Schiele is willing to sacrifice love, and ultimately life itself, for his art.
